Challenges we tackle

Since it's inception, SAB has worked across multiple development themes. At present, SAB's work could be categorised across the following 5 major themes.

Skill Development

SAB has been implementing skill based employability enhancement training programs across 14+ sectors including retail, hospitality, tourism, IT/ITeS, electronics, automobile,healthcare, agriculture, handicrafts, telecom, iron and steel, solar, capital goods andmanagement.

With a network of more than 40 training centers across geographies, SAB has impacted more than 40,000 youth so far.At SAB, we strive to bring in best practices, fostering skill development and employment under various programs/projects across the country.

Our trainings draw strength from ourexperience of being at the forefront of designing and implementing large scale skill trainingprograms for our associate funding agencies.

Theme Initiatives
Enhancing Employability through 21st Century Skills for youth and women

The program supports women’s economic empowerment and improve access to employment opportunities for 3500 women/youth in Bhopal and Indore districts of Madhya Pradesh. The design also focuses on including intervention activities which will work towards increased awareness, enhancing employability, facilitation of linkages with employers and exposure to the world of work.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana – NSDC program

PMKVY is the flagship program of MSDE to enable a large number of Indian youth to takeup industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood SAB has been implementing this program across all its operational geographies since theprogram inception in 2015.


SAB works on supporting livelihood promotion activities (farm and non-farm based) for marginalized communities. SAB enables the communities and supports livelihood promotion through interventions including capacity building, digital and financial literacy, backward linkages, value chain assessment, market linkage, e-commerce linkage, branding and product development support.

Formation and Promotion of FPOs

SAB is working with ITC Limited to engage more than 62,400 farmers across MadhyaPradesh and Rajasthan to build their capacities on technical and organizational skills,aggregate them to form 200+ FPOs/FPCs and provide market linkage and credit linkageinterventions.

Livelihood restoration for women Micro Entrepreneurs

UNDP Funded initiative towards building resilience and facilitating restoration of livelihoods amongst rural micro-entrepreneurs, especially among the reverse migrants who had to come back to their native places due to shutdowns associated with COVID. 4000+ micro-entrepreneurs were targeted to combat COVID 19 impact to build back better, resilient and stronger through sensitization, capacity building, training on microentrepreneurship, business management, financial literacy and market access in districts of Haryana and Punjab.

Natural Resource Management

Working towards conservation of biological resources and enabling communities gain sustainable livelihoods. SAB works on research, advisory and implementation programs towards conservation on natural resources including capacity building programs for communities towards green sustainable livelihoods.

We work on biodiversity conservation activities, species recovery programs, BMC constitution and trainings, ABS interventions, eco- entrepreneurship programs, skilling towards green jobs and other initiatives towards mainstreaming climate change adaption and mitigation, disaster management and resilience along with access to clean and efficient energy.

Green Recovery Pathway for India

SAB and UNDP have been working in Uttarakhand to promote green livelihoods and jobs, while integrating climate concerns into planning and implementation of rural infrastructural development programmes like the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA and strengthening capacities of various stakeholders in the planning/ implementing value chain. The activities include multiple processes for reversing biodiversity loss, reducing emissions, and reducing waste. Through this program, SAB works with farmer and micro-entrepreneurs (more than 80% women) to bette rprepare them in dealing with the uncertainties by strengthening value chains and promoting green livelihood options.

Village Transformation

SAB works towards building self-reliant communities through integrated development approach focusing on health, education, energy, water, conservation and livelihood issues. We integrate our experience and expertise over working towards multiple interventions, into an integrated geography and community focused programme to deliver development solutions. We undertake a scientific process driven approach towards uplifting the ultra poor communities towards the sustainable development.

Project Nirmaya

The project has been designed with a baseline assessment reflecting very poor health care status of 5 selected villages in Ratapani region of Madhya Pradesh. The selected villages are forest based communities predominantly Gond tribes where the women healthcare issues have been alarming. SAB is working with multiple stakeholders to provide access to healthcare facilities to the women. SAB has collaborated with AIIMS Bhopal to conduct health camps, menstrual hygiene awareness camps and distribution of sanitary pads across these villages.


SAB works towards social, digital and financial inclusion interventions and creating a socialsafety net for underprivileged communities.We believe there is a strong need to integrate a gendered focus on creating awareness andimplementing activities towards digital literacy, financial inclusion and social safety netprogram.We work on creating awareness, bridging the digital and financial literacy and inclusion gapsand linking social protection schemes for the marginalized communities.

Digital Literacy and Financial Literacy for Elderly

SAB and UNDP has worked with Government of Odisha to implement the digital literacy with focus on financial literacy project for the elderly in the cities of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Puri. The program focused more than 20,000 elderly citizens towards digital literacy with focus on financial literacy.

Social Safety Net Program

SAB and UNDP Green Recovery Program has implemented social safety net program in Uttarakhand to reach 60,000 households with awareness and information regarding social protection schemes. The awareness and communication campaigns focused agri and horticulture based schemes,livelihood schemes such as MGNREGS, DDUGKY and others.
